XO Becky

One of my  favorite things in life is to get to know people and hear their stories.   I think this is because each unique journey inspires me to believe God for all of  the wonderful things he is able to do in my own life.  That is why I am so excited about the Beautiful Stories blog.  It will enable us to share the incredible stories of our community and be inspired to be the women of influence that God has called us to be.

We are all women of influence that have a valuable part to play in affecting the world around us. “Influence” is such a catch phrase for this generation and many recognize the opportunity to influence others through social media, in fields of fashion, entrepreneurship, and the like.  My heart is that the women of City Church really understand that we have a powerful influence over everyone in our spheres: in the church, in our homes, in our work or in our neighborhoods.  Because we are followers of Jesus, who we are, what we believe, what we say, and how we respond when things are difficult can affect how those around us view God.  Wow, what a sobering thought!

We can use our influence to reveal the goodness and greatness of God by just being honest about His work in our own lives. God knows that none of the people in the Bible were perfect ( other than Jesus), and neither are we! But when we believe in His goodness, He works in our lives to help us become more like him, giving us power and ability to do what we could never do on our own. We get to participate in building up people, families, and our community (the church!) where everyone is welcome to experience Him.

Our passion is that you, and every woman, would fulfill the purpose of God in your own life and sphere of influence. The Bible says in 1 Peter 4:10 (NLT)  that “God has given each of you a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another!” We each have a very important part to play, no part more significant than the other, in making Jesus famous.

I hope these stories of faith and the goodness of God will inspire you to say yes to fulfilling your purpose through God, and that your story would be woven into the great story of what God is doing in our city, nation, and the nations of this earth.

xoxo
